Meet the founder

Born into the heart of Liberia turmoil, Hawa Precious Yorwatei’s life has been a testament to resilience, love and the power of compassion. Hawa’s story begins in Bong Mines, where she entered the world as the precious daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Yorwatei.

But Hawa’s childhood was marred by the darkness of war. At just ten years old, she found herself caught in the crossfire of the Liberia’s civil war, witnessing unspeakable atrocities that would shape the cause of her life forever. Her father Joseph Kolleh Yorwatei, a former Deputy Minister for Internal Affairs, fell victim to the violence, leaving Hawa orphaned and alone.

Amidst the chaos and devastation, a ray of light emerged in the form of a kind-hearted woman name Ma. Victoria Harris. With boundless love and generosity, Ma Harris took Hawa under her wing, offering her shelter, protection and a sense of belonging in a world torn apart by conflict. For ten years, Ma. Harris becomes not only a guardian but a mother figure to Hawa, nurturing her spirit and instilling in her the value of compassion and resilience.

It was through Ma. Harris unwavering love that Hawa found the courage to rise above her circumstance and pursue her calling to help others. Inspired by her own journey from loss to love, Hawa dedicated her life to serving lost and less fortunate children, offering them the same love support that had once been bestowed upon her.

But even amidst the triumph of reconnecting with her family, tragedy struck once more with the loss of her father. Yet, through it all, Hawa’s faith remained unshakeable, her spirit undaunted by the trials she faced.

Today, Hawa Precious Yorwatei stands as a beacon of hope and inspiration, a living testament to the power of love to transform lives and the resilience of the human spirit to overcome even the darkest of days. As she continues her mission to uplift and empower orphaned and vulnerable children, Hawa’s story serves as a reminder that no matter how great the adversity, love will always prevail in the end.
